Scaffolding Dangling 50 Stories High Off One World Trade Center
Rescue crews are responding to One World Trade Center after a window washers’ scaffold malfunctioned, leaving it dangling in the air about 50 stories above ground, authorities say.
The FDNY said it responded to the skyscraper shortly before 1 p.m. Wednesday.
It wasn’t clear if anyone was on the scaffold when it malfunctioned.
According to NBC News, the window washing unit was being used over the weekend to clean the south and southeast sides of the building.
