Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer to Kick Off The Fourth Annual Brooklyn Bridge Mother’s Day Walk

 Milagros Day Worldwide to Celebrate Motherhood on Sunday May 10th While Raising Funds and Awareness for Domestic Violence Programs; Turning Abuse Into Success!
The Mother’s Day Walk is a New York City tradition held annually by Milagros Day Worldwide; a non-profit organization that empowers survivors of Domestic Violence through leadership coaching, mentorship, and a commitment to Turning Abuse Into Success.
“This event is a fantastic, fun family day created to honor and celebrate Motherhood while raising awareness and funds to support programs for those who have experienced Domestic Violence.” says Milagros Day Founder Dawn Diaz; a Retired FDNY Captain, Inspirational Speaker, Author and Life Coach.

The Fourth Annual Mother’s Day Walk will begin at City Hall Park with a Zumba warm-up, followed by a press conference and opening ceremony which will include remarks by Manhattan Borough President Gale A. Brewer, and a performance by the New York City Fire Department’s (FDNY) EMS Pipes and Drums Band.

The approximately 1.1 mile walk across the Brooklyn Bridge will culminate in Cadman Plaza Park where walkers will enjoy an afternoon of mesmerizing dance music by DJ Duce Martinez, and a variety of family activities including Adult, Child and Pet CPR and First Aid Awareness by Iron Hand Rescue.

Sponsors for this year’s walk are The City University of New York (CUNY); Worthy Lifestyle Initiative created by Ahmad Quazi Jr, along with its I AM Worthy Anti-Bullying Campaign; Food Exchange Catering and Events Company; Green Mountain Energy Company, Live-In Connection Real Estate With Purpose Magazine, and Brooklyn Colony Restaurant and Entertainment Venue.

The Mistress of Ceremonies will be International Youth Motivational Speaker and Founder of Dignity Universal, Rossmery Gomez; introducing a powerful line-up of speakers. Among these will be Award-Winning Hollywood Comedienne, Actress, Writer, and Producer Kiki Melendez as the Grand Marshall or “Madrina”; Manhattan Borough President Gale A. Brewer; Emmy Winning Journalist, Producer and Telemundo Executive Marisol Seda;  Best-Selling Author, Blogger, TV Producer, and Acclaimed Beauty Expert, Dawn Gallagher

Special Presentation by Celebrity Coach, Author and Speaker Karen Hoyos, International Spokesperson for Milagros Day Worldwide; on The Power of Purpose and its impact on the creation of this amazing organization through her work with Founder Dawn Diaz. Ms. Hoyos will joyfully introduce Dawn Diaz as symbol of the possibility for harmony and peace when people find, and dare to live their life’s purpose.

Mother’s Day Walk Creator Dawn Diaz, will close the ceremony by announcing the Man of the Movement “MOM” Award, and acknowledging the courageous graduates of Milagros Day Worldwide’s life-changing programs The Transformation Academy and The Bootcamp Retreat.
